Delete Your Base Account and All Its Data

How do I delete my Base account?

Open Settings, then Account, then Delete account. Base asks twice — once naming everything that is about to go, and once naming the account by email…

[TL;DR]

Deleting a Base account destroys the account and everything stored under it on the server, and it cannot be undone. The controls are in the app, and there is an email route below for anyone who no longer has it installed.

Delete it from inside the app

Settings › Account › Delete account. The account screen names the address the account belongs to, so you can see which account you are about to delete before you tap anything.

Base asks twice on purpose. This is the only irreversible action in the whole app — every other destructive-looking thing in Settings comes back on the next sign-in — and one tap between a settings screen and a year of training data is not enough. The first confirmation names what is going. The second names the account by its email address, so a phone handed to somebody else cannot delete the wrong one.

What is destroyed

Everything the server holds under the account:

  • the food log, including saved meals, day templates and supplements
  • every logged set, session and workout
  • bodyweight history, trend weight and measurements
  • goals, the training program and the endurance week
  • coach conversations and any notes attached to them
  • settings and the profile
  • any progress photos that were uploaded to storage

The local database on the phone is cleared at the same time, so the app comes back empty rather than showing a signed-out copy of somebody's training history.

What survives, and why

Progress photos archived to your phone's photo library. Base copies every progress photo into an album in your own photo library, specifically so the pictures survive deleting and reinstalling the app. They are yours, they were never uploaded to a Base server, and deleting the account does not reach into your photo library. Delete the album yourself if you want them gone.

Anything in Apple Health or Health Connect. Base reads sleep, heart rate, energy and workouts from the health store to compute scores; it does not take a copy. There is nothing of yours in Base to delete, and the data is still in the health store afterwards, unchanged. Revoking Base's access is a separate switch in the health store itself.

If you no longer have the app

Email hello@trybase.app from the address the account is registered under and ask for the account to be deleted. The same server-side deletion runs, and you get a confirmation once it has.

Include nothing else — no password, no other identifying detail. The address the request comes from is what proves ownership, and it is the only thing needed.

Mistakes people make

Deleting before exporting. There is no grace period, no archive and nothing to restore from. The export is one tap and produces plain CSV and JSON.

Assuming deletion also clears the health store. It does not, because Base never had a copy. Revoke access in Apple Health or Health Connect separately if that is what you want.

Wanting the analytics off, not the account gone. Settings › Privacy has a switch for the analytics on its own. Deleting the account to stop analytics also deletes the training history, which is almost never what somebody actually wants.

What to do next

If you are leaving because something in Base is not working, export the data first and then say what broke — a bug that made somebody delete their account is worth more to us than the account was.

Questions people actually ask.

How do I delete my Base account?

Open Settings, then Account, then Delete account. Base asks twice — once naming everything that is about to go, and once naming the account by email address — because this is the only irreversible action in the app. Confirming destroys the account and every row stored under it.

What exactly gets deleted?

The account itself and everything the server holds under it: food log, workouts, weights, measurements, goals, program, endurance sessions, settings and any progress photos that were uploaded to storage. The local database on the phone is cleared with it when you delete from inside the app.

What is NOT deleted?

Two things, and both are deliberate. Progress photos archived into your own phone's photo library are yours and stay there — Base copies them out precisely so they survive the app. And nothing Base ever read from Apple Health or Health Connect is deleted, because Base never stored it: that data belongs to the health store and is still there after Base is gone.

Can I delete my account if I no longer have the app installed?

Yes. Email hello@trybase.app from the address the account is registered under and ask for deletion. The same server-side deletion runs, and you get confirmation when it has.

Can deletion be undone?

No. There is no grace period and no archived copy to restore from. Export your data first if there is any chance you want it — the export is a single tap and produces plain CSV and JSON you can open anywhere.

Does deleting the account stop the product analytics too?

Yes. The analytics identity is the account, so deleting the account ends it. If you only want the analytics off and want to keep training, there is a switch in Settings › Privacy that does exactly that and nothing else.
